In a moment of spare time, I thought I’d take a retrospective look on some of the Large Format images I have made in the last 3 years. I came across this image, taken at Bamburgh in Northimberland; at the time I remember feeling that this was not an image I was proud of and quickly moved on.
Taking another look, 2 years after it was taken, there is something very appealing about it: calm, monotone and requiring the viewer to work that bit harder to figure out what it is - attributes that I really try to bring out in my work now.
Sometimes going back helps in being able to move forward
