It was the second time for both of them, surrounded by the love of family and friends.  They are a beautiful and handsome couple who are very much in love; it was an emotional and precious day and I was honoured to be there. Weddings for those who have been there, seen it and done the “big one” are always so emotionally charged.

Somehow the second time round gives people the chance to do it in the way they want to do it.

No rules.

No formality.

Just 2 people in love.

And besides if you can end up with your feet in the pool at the end of the day….!

Here are some of my favourites

I spent some time with Chris and his son Redd, doing what I love best…easy, relaxed portraits. Chris and Zoe had been out scouting for a location for me  – now that’s great clients!

I also spent some time with Zoe and her friends at her house as she got ready

The ceremony took place in the imposing setting of Colchester Town Hall, where they had spent the day before adding little touches to the room. Zoe has a thing for butterflies, which were everywhere!

Having said an emotionally charged farewell, Zoe and Chris headed off to the Maison Talbooth – a fabulous boutique hotel…with a wonderful pool that we made use of…The light was sublime

(Geeky photog stuff: Canon 5D MKi  the images were shot with a 50mm 1.2, 85mm 1.2 and occasionally the 24mm 1.4. And as is my preference, all natural light)

These two were fab!

It’s always a real treat to photograph a bride with a veil

Both of them were so relaxed and natural in front of the camera – though I think they would beg to differ. But what can you do when you have 2 people who are really in love and a great location like Hampton Court Park? The light was harsh, hot and bright but as the day progressed it became much softer and more directional. This image looks as though the grass is on fire!

And a few details of the day, I even got a lolly with my name on it – thanks both!

I’m not sure what it was on the Pier but it makes an interesting frame!

What can we say, other than the photos look wonderful! We had a magical
time, and you’ve captured some lovely moments for us.

It was both a nerve wracking and exciting day for all, and you brought a
sense of calm and fun to your work that ensured that we were smiling
throughout, and yet caught some of the more soulful moments too.
