Have you ever had a Jaffa cake from Darth Vader?
Me neither. Until I met Zach and Gabriel. Mind you said Jaffa cake was waved in my face. Then eaten with glee. Not by me I should add. Much laughter followed.
Favourite toys on show, in the way in which kids do. Lego and Star Wars. A door wedge became a dagger. “Get Mummy” they cried before Dad waded in. A wonderful game of tickle ensued. There is nothing more satisfying than hearing “stop it” accompanied by squeals of laughter.
Even more so when being bounced around on a trampoline. Mum was having none of it. A resigned look of “boys” on her face. Still pirates, dens and swords followed. Mum giving a lesson in the finer art of fencing. As much as she tried she couldn’t resist showing them who was boss. Ahem.
Time for a break. This was a serious photoshoot ! Tea. Crisps. More Jaffa cakes smuggled off plates. (Me and Zach in this case!)
We played football. Ran ragged around the garden. In the end gentle cajoling of tired boys. With certain amounts of bribery thrown in.
I took my leave feeling part of the gang. Grass stains on the back of my shirt. Muddy knees. With sadness I gave back my sword (placed in my pocket as a gift from Zach.)
It is amazing what you can photograph in a few hours in one location. Thank you all for a wonderful time
