The process
All printing is done personally by myself on via an Canon Pro-1000 printer. The paper I use is of archival quality and is always 305gsm, matte in texture. Naturally I use professional inks which have fantastic colour reproduction. I often receive feedback that the level of detail and tonality is incredible - something that viewing images on a screen can not convey. The images are spot checked by myself before they are dispatched.
Colour reproduction and cropping
Please note that not all images in the galleries will conform perfectly to the paper sizes offered. The crop will be made trying to preserve the longest side and will endeavour to make best use of paper and composition. The image previews are low resolution copies and may therefore not be a true representation of the final printed colours. Please note that due to differences in computer monitor calibrations and viewing environments exact colour matches cannot be guaranteed.
Print sizesSelecting an appropriate print size can be confusing, but hopefully this will make things clearer. Many cameras today take photos in a 3:2 ratio. This means the long side is 1.5 times longer than the short side. For this reason, 6×4” has become a popular size for standard prints. Images can be printed in a variety of sizes but the ratios will vary. For example, 10×8inch prints have a 5:4 ratio. The long side is only 1.25 times longer than the short side. The photo will appear squarer and cropped at the sides. Most of my commercial images are shot in a 3:2 ratio. Whereas most of landscape work are shot in a 4:3 ratio. Therefore the print sizes on offer reflect this
