Weddings are about love. They are about family and friends. Most of all they are about fun. Happy, smiling faces, and the two of you completely in the moment.
Why me
I have photographed weddings of every size for over twenty years, and I still love them. Some photographers are put off by the pressure of the day. I eat it for breakfast. My background is in events, so I know how a day flows, when to step in and when to disappear. And I bring a fine-art landscape eye to it, twenty years of reading light and weather, which is why a wedding of mine tends to look a little different.
My style
My style is honest and natural. Relaxed and easy. Elegant, simple compositions that make the most of the light and the setting. I am unobtrusive and gentle with direction, and I know when to photograph and when to stand back. My best work comes from the relationship I build with you, so I take the time to meet before a camera ever appears. I am married myself, so I know what you are going through with that endless list, and I can help there too. I shoot in colour, as I see it, no heavy filtering, images made to last decades rather than to chase a trend.

How I work, and what it costs
I keep it simple. I work on my own, so you have one point of contact and one vision of the day, from the morning preparations to the dancing and beyond. I don't clock-watch.
Weddings start at £2,000 for full-day coverage, tailored to your day, all in with nothing else to pay. I'm happy to travel. Tell me your date and venue and I'll come back with the detail.

From the hours spent discussing the day with both of us, planning where he'd be and where he wouldn't be, we just knew the end results would be spectacular, and so they were. Questions couples ask
How would you describe your style?
Honest and natural. Some call it photojournalistic, which is quite a mouthful and not very helpful. I photograph in colour, as I see it, with no heavy filters, so your pictures still look amazing when you look back in forty years.
How many photographs will we get?
As many as it takes to tell your day. A hundred and I'm sure you won't feel you've missed out; hundreds and hundreds and you'll be overwhelmed. I take the Goldilocks approach: just right. Every wedding is different, so the number is too.
When will we see them?
Usually within two weeks (I will let you know if it's going to take me longer), in a private online gallery where you can download your images, and you and your guests can order prints and digital files.
Will you do the family group photos?
Absolutely. I send you a suggested list, you tick the ones you want, and we agree a moment in the day for them. The poses are relaxed and informal. It usually takes about twenty minutes, and then everyone can carry on.
We hate having our photo taken.
You are not the only ones. I can help with that. Children to entertain as well? Wonderful. Children at weddings are a blessing, and I love their irreverence for the whole serious adult occasion.
Can we meet first?
Yes, and I'd like to. Over a coffee if you're nearby, or a video call if not. I want to understand what you want from your pictures, and you get to know who will be behind the camera.
What happens if you fall ill?
In over twenty years I have never missed a wedding. I've stepped in myself when a couple's booked photographer fell through, so I know how much it matters. If the worst ever happened, I would refund you in full. I also hold public liability insurance.
How do we book?
Tell me your date and venue using the form below. If I'm free, we'll meet and get to know each other first. Once you're happy, a booking fee of 25% of the agreed fee secures your date.
