The Jurassic Coast: Portland Bill and Durdle Door
The Jurassic Coast is a feast for a photographer: limestone cliffs and slate, and from November to early February it faces both the rising and the setting sun. Add fair weather, or fairish, and it has all the makings of a remarkable place.
I came for a day and a half with my dad, on the weekend of some of the most ferocious storms in years. At Portland Bill we stood far too close to the edge as the Atlantic vented its fury: wipe the filter, take a picture, turn your back to the waves, repeat, ten times over. The colour came and went in seconds. At dawn at Durdle Door the only colour was on the far horizon, and a 30-second exposure turned the sea an almost tropical blue.
These are the prints from the Jurassic Coast.
